  • TDF5G: I have returned from my vacation @ Starvy Creek festival.  Had a great time.  Law enforcement evacuated the park due to storms on Wed night.  We were already at Wallymart waiting it out from midnight until 2 AM.  (sorry for the weather report) Never been at a festival where this had happened.  Too much rain and mud also.  But a great time.  Good bands, jamming and fellowship with bluegrass folks. I got to do lot's of banjo pickin' this year.  I usually end up playing mandolin or guitar mostly.  I was rusty on the banjo, but by the end of the week I was doing purdy good.  Looking forward to the next one.  Hope everyone a good Independence Day.

What I can't fathom either, is how the assistant coach that witnessed the atrocity didn't step in to to break it up right then and there...........

I know I would have.  I believe the majority of us would.

There was a good column in the sports section of our paper about McQueary's actions (or lack there of). The columnist said something like (and I paraphrase) "Really?? You see a young boy being assaulted by a grown man and  your first response is to run home and tell Daddy?? Seems like your first response should have been to step-in and beat the crap out of Jerry Sandusky in an effort to rescue the child."

Yesterday someone actually said to me...."How do we know the victims weren't willing participants?"  That's a convenient spin for the die hard JoePa fans.
