I think national reciprocity would be a good thing.  Especially for the states of IL,CA,NY.

They need to separate those issues.

Now if they can just straighten out the bump stock thing.

I don't see any need for a bump stock either.  I heard of them but I never even knew what it was until the LV mass shooting.

BUT: If they outlaw bumpstocks, what is next?  The bumpstock bill bans way much more than just the bumpstock.  It's a lot of legal mumbo jumbo that would pretty much make a lot of existing legal firearms illegal.

That's one idea, but I don't think it's practical for a $40 piece of plastic.

IMO bumpstocks are just a novelty thing.  Government is wasting time and money on a toy. And how are you gonna remove existing ones?

They are not that deadly.  I've seen videos of expert shooters that can shoot quicker and more accurate with a semi-auto AR15 than with the same rifle with a bump fire attachment.

I would LOVE to see this bill pass.  My carry permit is good here in Mn/ and Wi/ 40 some other states/as well as In when I go back home to Indiana, but I have to travel through Illinois to get there. And when in Illinois (to feel totally safe while traveling through the state with 3 or 4 pistols I use at the range in Indiana  - -) I have all of my mags and ammo locked and in a separate compartment from my pistols (which are also locked in a different place) in the trunk of the car.  Since I have weapons and ammo in my trunk - - I can't go anywhere "off the highway" in that state.  I have to stay right there by the interstate  (gas station/ truck stop/ etc./ - - and keep on moving on if I don't want to be considered "illegal" (should I be stopped by the State Police out there on the highway.)  My choosing to carry protection "on me", is not allowed in Illinois (as a passer-by/ visitor/etc.)  This $h!t needs to end.  It's an ugly world out there, and it's a sorry day in Hell when you and I are are not "allowed" to defend ourselves if (and when)  we are attacked by a$$holes where we live/ where we happen to be/ and if we are on the road.

Once I get out out of Illinois and into Indiana - - I strap on the carry pistol.
It irritates me that I have to take it off in the first place.

GUNS don't kill people........

........ BULLETS do!

At least the strict  laws in illinois have been able to keep the "Death By Gunshot" statistics down to fewer than  three per year.

Oh wait. should that have been " fewer than three per month"?
Oh wait. should that have been   "fewer than three per week?"?
Oh wait. should that have been "fewer than three per DAY" ??
oh, wait......
